I usually buy Prego in the Sam's Club sized bottles and end up throwing half of it away. My kitchen is on empty and I was trying to patch together something for dinner so I didn't have to go out. Had one can of Hunts tomato sauce. I adjusted this recipe just slightly as I did not have the can of diced tomatoes. I added a pinch of sweet basil, a pinch of Italian seasoning and a pinch of garlic salt. I also used about a 1/2 tablespoon of white sugar instead of any brown. My kids LOVED this recipe. THANK YOU dollar can of Hunt's!!!

I used the recipe on the can because I had not bought any spaghetti sauce and I needed to make my son his dinner, spaghetti is his favorite. I used the recipe on the can and he said it was the best he ever had. I think that is a great review, since he eats spaghetti at least twice a week!

Used a 6 Pound can of sauce and added a bit of garlic sauce in it with 2.5 pounds of hamburger. Also used Stewed tomatoes instead of Hunt's® Diced. We like to add the sauce to the spaghetti and mix. Thanks for the recipe! Turned out perfect!

Re: Casey Nov 7 '14… This is my "Go-To" crock pot spaghetti sauce recipe. Have been making it for years, sometimes tweaking a little for fun, but not much. My family really likes it as is, and it's never come out watery, so I was surprised to read your review about it being too watery… Since there's no water in the ingredient list, is it possible you misunderstood and put all the ingredients in the spaghetti boiling pot? Maybe Hunts wasn't clear about the first instruction being in a separate pot from the sauce. Just wondering. Maybe drain the canned tomatoes if you decide to try it again. I've tried this recipe with ground turkey, and it's great… adding a little cut up sausage, also very good. Sometimes I like to add carmelized onion, mushroom, & red bell peppers near the end of the crock pot cooking time (when I make the pasta). Usually, I add a Tbs or less of Italian Seasoning, since i only have the plain variety of canned tomatoes on hand. Thx Hunts, I've enjoyed the recipe

I use the Hunts tomato sauce along with the Hunts original pasts sauce. I brown the ground beef and onion also add Parmesan cheese, 1/8 cup sugar and 1 tsp basil and a small amount of water. Let simmer 30 min or so. My family really likes this!
