Directions
- Preheat oven to 375°F. Mix bread crumbs and half-and-half in small bowl until absorbed. Set aside 1/4 pound each of ground beef and pork. Place remaining meat in large bowl; combine with soaked bread crumbs, half of the chopped onion, egg, tomato paste and 1/4 teaspoon salt. Mix with hands until well combined.
- Place aluminum foil on large baking sheet and spray with cooking spray. Divide sticky meatball mixture into 6 large balls and place on baking sheet. Spray meatballs with cooking spray and bake 25 minutes or until done (165°F in center).
- Meanwhile, cook pasta according to package directions; set aside and keep warm.
- While meatballs and pasta are cooking, heat oil in large saucepan over medium-high heat. Add remaining half of onion, garlic and reserved meat; cook 5 minutes or until meat is crumbled and no longer pink. Add crushed tomatoes, undrained diced tomatoes, oregano, red pepper flakes, remaining 1/4 teaspoon salt and pepper; mix well. Reduce heat to medium-low; simmer 15 to 20 minutes.
- Toss pasta with sauce and divide evenly between 6 serving bowls. Place 1 meatball in the middle of each bowl. Serve with Parmesan cheese, if desired.
