Ingredients

  • 6 ounces dry campanelle pasta, uncooked
  • 3/4 pound Italian pork sausage links, casings removed
  • 1 can (24 oz each) Hunt's® Meat Flavored Pasta Sauce
  • 2 cups shredded part-skim mozzarella cheese (2 cups = 8 oz)

Directions

  1. Cook pasta according to package directions, omitting salt. Meanwhile, cook sausage in large skillet over medium-high heat 5 minutes or until crumbled and no longer pink, breaking up clumps with the back of spoon. Blend in pasta sauce; simmer 5 minutes. Remove from skillet; cover to keep warm.
  2. Drain pasta. Place half of cooked pasta in bottom of skillet. Pour half of sauce mixture over the pasta; sprinkle with half the cheese. Top with remaining pasta, sauce mixture and cheese.
  3. Cover and cook over medium heat 5 minutes or until hot and cheese melts. Remove from heat; let stand 1 minute.

Cook's Tip

Campanelle pasta is a small cone or trumpet-shaped pasta with a ruffled edge. Other pasta shapes may be substituted. Just before serving, sprinkle with 1 tablespoon chopped fresh parsley, if desired.

This is quick easy and just as good as the lasagna it takes me all day to make. never had the sauce until this recipe.
