Ingredients

  • 1 can (14.5 oz each) Hunt's® Whole Peeled Plum Tomatoes, undrained
  • 1/4 cup firmly packed brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup finely chopped onion
  • 1/4 cup champagne vinegar
  • 2 tablespoons golden raisins
  • 1 teaspoon minced fresh ginger
  • 1/2 teaspoon minced garlic
  • 1/2 teaspoon chili powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon curry powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon paprika
  • Dash ground nutmeg

Directions

  1. Puree undrained tomatoes in food processor leaving some small pieces.
  2. Place pureed tomatoes and all remaining ingredients in medium skillet. Heat over medium-high heat until mixture comes to a boil. Reduce heat to medium-low; simmer 15 minutes or until thickened.
  3. Refrigerate until ready to use.

Cook's Tip

Use the chutney as a condiment to accompany roast pork or grilled turkey, salmon or swordfish. Or, serve the chutney over cream cheese or baked Brie with crackers for an excellent hors d'oeuvre.
